    Dear Geagans,

Your adventures in Olso sound like so much fun. I can also see that they were fun from the dancing and sailing pictures!

Last weekend, Mr. deLong and I went to see our son, Eric. His home is near Albany, New York and is about a 4 hour drive. He lives on a farm with his wife, two sons (ages 6,8) and daughter, Clara. Clara will be 2 this week and she is having some “terrible two” behavior – Donya (Mom) can explain what that means.

On the farm, they are harvesting lots of greens, such as swiss chard, spinach and lettuce. Unfortunately, the raddishes got worms in them and were ruined. ALSO, this week, Eric saw deer droppings. This means that his guard dogs are not doing a very good job of keeping away the hungry deer! The dogs, Winney and Ranger (for Power ranger) are sleeping in the heat, AND we have a LOT of heat!

In Wayne, the temperatures were nearly 100 (farenheit) for two days. Some schools closed early so children could go home. It sounded strange to hear and read about early school dismissals for heat, not snow or ice.

I wish you continued good sails and great adventures.

    Mrs. deLong
